Privacy policy
This policy covers the Word on Tap app, its Home Screen widgets and Live Activities, and this website. “We” means the app’s developer and maintainer. Privacy questions can be sent to support@shelterfuture.com.
No registration is required. The current app has no ads, third-party behavioural analytics or tracking SDKs. Searches, word selections and accent preferences are not uploaded to a developer server. We do not sell personal information or track you across apps.
On-device information and permissions
The word list is bundled with the app. Your current word and accent preference are stored on your device and shared between the app and its widgets to keep them consistent. Searches are processed in the app and are not sent to us. The app does not request access to contacts, photos, location or microphone; pronunciation playback does not require recording permission.
Remove local app data by deleting the app. Choose “Delete App”, rather than “Offload App”, which may retain data. Device backups or system-retained copies are managed through your Apple device and backup settings. Word on Tap has no developer-operated cloud sync or account service.
System services and diagnostics
For App Store purchases, Apple handles payments and refunds; we do not receive payment card details. Apple’s services are subject to the Apple Privacy Policy linked below.
The system may generate local operational logs containing the word played, voice settings or error information. If you enable analytics or diagnostic sharing in Apple’s system settings, Apple may provide crash or diagnostic reports to the developer. We use these only to troubleshoot problems and improve reliability, not to build advertising profiles.
When you contact us
If you email us, we receive your email address, message and any screenshots or diagnostic information you choose to attach. We use these to respond, resolve your request and keep necessary support records. Do not send passwords, payment card details or unrelated sensitive information. We retain correspondence only as needed to handle your request, necessary follow-up or legal obligations. You can ask to access, correct or delete information you have provided by contacting our support email.
This website, children and policy updates
This website uses Vercel Web Analytics for traffic statistics and Vercel Speed Insights for performance monitoring. Page URLs, referrers, browser/device information, approximate location and performance metrics are sent to Vercel. According to Vercel, these services do not use analytics cookies; Web Analytics uses a request-derived visitor hash discarded after 24 hours. We do not use this data for advertising or cross-site tracking. See the Vercel privacy documentation linked below. Your manually selected language stays in browser local storage; change it in the language menu or clear site data to remove it. Language selection still works during the current visit if storage is unavailable. The hosting provider may process IP addresses, access times and browser information in request logs to deliver and secure the site. Website statistics and logs are separate from the app’s on-device word list and learning actions.
We do not actively collect children’s personal information through the app. Minors should use and purchase it with a parent or guardian’s guidance. Contact us if you believe information has been provided that should not have been.
If app features or data practices change, we will update this policy and its date. We will provide additional notice or obtain consent where required by law.
